Sonya Hiatt, 45, lost her son Karl, l6, in tragic circumstances. He committed suicide after being tormented throughout his school life by bullies. Sonya turned to North News to tell her story.

She said:

"North News helped me a lot during the most awful time I could have imagined. Of all the journalists I spoke to following Karl's death it was the North News reporter who showed the most compassion and sensitivity. The agency was extremely diplomatic and professional during a very difficult time in my life."

Mary Rowell, 62, sold her home and used some of the proceeds to fund plastic surgery and transformed her looks.

She said:

Kelly Bonner, l9, was the sixth woman to fall pregnant by love rat dad Keith Macdonald, 20. He dumped her by text after revealing to the world that he had fathered six children with six different women. Her baby is due in April.

"It was confusing at first because quite a few magazines wanted my story. It was very daunting having them all contact me.

"But North News got me the best deal and gave me lots of advice and help in dealing with the situation and I gave my interview to their features writer and they were very nice.

"Even though some of it was quite sensitive and upsetting for me to talk about I felt very at ease talking with them and they were very good like that.

"They even collected me from home and took me to the station when I needed to travel to London for a photoshoot for Reveal magazine – they really looked after me."
