A bit about us...
North News & Pictures started life in 1984, supplying photos, news and features to the national newspapers and magazines.
It began in the two-room attic of a terraced shop on Teesside with its founders, Ted Ditchburn, taking the pictures and his wife, Jane Morton, writing the stories.
Since then it has steadily grown, with a staff of 23 covering our region from the Newcastle HQ and offices in Middlesbrough and Carlisle.
Our “patch” stretches down from the Scottish Borders to North Yorkshire and South Cumbria, where we have covered the most important stories over three decades – and accumulated a library of over a million images, with hundreds of thousands of them digitally archived.
We continue to provide a fast, professional and reliable service to our established clients – newspapers, magazines, TV and radio – by supplying words and images of what’s happening in our region.
And now we do so much more – with award-winning photographers, a team of journalists and a content desk manned by experienced staff using sophisticated technology, we have an enviable reputation for PR services.
Our record for getting pictures onto pages and video onto online newspaper sites is second to none and makes us a clear choice for PR professionals who appreciate our unrivalled methods of distribution, delivery and routes to market.
We can provide the whole package – writing and distributing Press releases, providing eye-catching pictures and informative video news releases (VNRs).
Our clients – who include Premiership football clubs, Northumbria, Sunderland and Teesside Universities, the NewcastleGateshead Initiative, Benfield Motors, the Port of Tyne and A&P Group – know that our photos carry the best chance of publication.
After all, our business is to get the North’s news noticed!
